How much suffering and misery can one person take?    At what point has a prisoner taken so much torture that he just wants to die?   After a month?   Or after half a year?    William Thomsen was imprisoned in China for 14 months and spent five long winter months in the notorious secret police prison. An odyssey of cruel interrogations, humiliation and unconditional helplessness. Alone he probably wouldn’t have survived. But his cellmates gave him courage and strength.
